Dr. Rubman

Claire Talking 2Dr. Rubman is a Cognitive, Developmental Psychologist.  She has numerous publications and radio interviews to her credit. 

She is frequently requested to present guest lectures, keynote addresses and workshop presentations both within the United States and internationally.

Uniquely qualified to talk and write about cognitive development, Dr. Rubman has a refreshingly novel approach that appeals to students, teachers, parents and experts in the field.

Dr. Rubman’s passion for child development engages audiences  as she tackles contentious issues ranging from teens and technology to kindergarten readiness and 21st century pressures.

Her humor and personal anecdotes make complex research palatable and easily digestible.  Packed with research and theories in cognitive development, these presentations are humorous, engaging and interactive.

Dr. Rubman is a Professor at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, NY where she has taught for the past 12 years.

Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, she earned her PhD and M.A. degrees in Cognitive, Developmental Psychology from the State University of New York in Stony Brook.  She holds a B.A. degree from Glasgow University and she also earned her F.L.C.M., L.L.C.M. (Teacher’s Diploma) degrees from the London College of Music in London, England where she currently serves as an external examiner.

Dr. Rubman’s students have won national awards for their work in the prestigious American Psychological Association (APA).  This is a testament to her dedication and devotion to her work and her rare ability to engage both the listener and reader.
